Stitchie Witchie

K.. So I put away Thistle Manor, so of course I had to start something else, still taking a break from my MIL's gift. So I decided to to print off Stitchie Witchie, from Brookes Books...she is so adorable! I made some minor changes, mainly because I ran out of, or didnt have certain colors. Anyway, there are many neat charts on Brooke's website and also on her yahoo groups..check them out!!

Grandma's Lace

Took my special basket down from its shelf today, to look at my grandmothers handmade lace. I like to do this from time to time, and was thinking about her today and it seemed fitting. She was wonderful at so many things, crochet being one of them. The lace trims here, were once on handmade linen towels, she and my Zia Antonina made when they were young girls. The bolt I'm guessing was to adorn a coverlet, someday when I make that full sized bed quilt, I hope to incorporate this lace bolt into it. I especially love having the pattern she cut from a 1953 newspaper for her lace making!

Update on Thistle Manor

Took a little break from Thistle Manor, but snapped this before I put it away, I guess truth be told, I got a little bored with it, I made a kit of it and will use it as a take along....

Thistle Manor

Started this little chart today, its on 32 ct Irish Linen, I love the muted color of the linen and the muted blue floss.

Family Tree Work in Progress

This is yet another work in progress, a family tree chart, it was started in 2006, and has made it back up to the top in my rotation ;)

Other Endeavors

This was made over a month ago, from a cake server in my junk drawer and some random beads, I showed my crafty friend Ronda how to wrap them and they quickly became a new obsession, many many trips to Michaels and Joanne's were required!!

We had such plans to craft all summer long, beading and stamping, but my neck surgery and her recent knee injury have prevented us from hanging out, I hope she gets great news from her doc today on her MRI. I hope to be driving soon, this surgery has knocked me off my feet!!

Birthday Wishes

Loved this little birthday cake design from Joanne Sanderson. I've made two so far and plan to finish them as cards, as soon as I do a Michael's run for card stock that is ;)

This is an adorable Erica Michaels freebie, I took poetic license and used the DMC colors I had on hand. I have the Rainbow Gallery threads and fibers on my wish list.

A Joanne Sanderson freebie, I couldnt resist. The last few weeks Ive been collecting lots of Halloween charts. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so it seems only fitting to stitch up a few tributes :)

Funday Monday

Happy Monday All:

Finally finished with work for the day and on to more fun things. Ive snapped a few more pix of completed charts, just need to decide how to finish them. I need to do a Joann's and Michaels run, Im still not driving due to my recent neck surgery. Guess I will have to ask sonny boy to drive me, (here's where I call in some favors for all the trips to the music stores ;)

Happy Stitching!!

Imogene Witch

I love her, she is a freebie from Kreinik... some of her threads glow in the dark...I plan to send her to my niece and nephew for Halloween....

Borrowed some elements from my Lizzie Kate stash and added the bone and paw print...(which Ive been told is not doggie appropriate...oops)... Sent this to a dear friend and her kids who just lost their faithful friend.....

Tea Time

My first Brooke's books chart, I stitched it on Oatmeal 14 ct Aida, and plan to make it into an ornie, as soon as I find some cute fabric to back it with. I used floss and beads on hand, so it is not exactly as the pattern reads.

Little Finishes

My first Lizzie Kate chart, a cute little Tooth Fairy pillow, I made for my little friend Jessie, she loved it, It will look adorable in her perfectly pink room!

General Store~A work in progress

Another work in progress, this is from Told in a Garden...The Country Store...

I made the terrible mistake of putting it away in the hoop, for longer than I care to admit. Im hoping the hoop marks will come out. I plan to put it in a stretcher frame to complete, hopefully that will help.
